Progressive rockers Rödtjut is back with a new album, a new lineup and renewed energy. Remaining from the previous era are Hannes Hansson (ex-Mustasch) and Fredde Johansson, now joined by a new rhythm section consisting of Per Helm (ex-Union Carbide Productions) on drums and Per Svensson (Per Svensson Psychedelic Sound) on bass. The sound remains solid; that 70s hard rock with truths delivered in Swedish, but infused with fresh energy and vitality. Heavy grooves born out of the Swedish "folkhem" welfare state, aiming for a brighter future. Simply ”hard-progg” from Gothenburg.
The band is set to release their new album ”Framtiden var bättre förr” on June 26th, 2026. Eight new tracks recorded on two separate occasions: first in May at Welfare Sounds with Kalle Lilja at the helm, and later during the darkest days of the year at Studio Katakomb with Pontus Torstensson behind the board. The entire project was mastered by Hans Olsson at Svenska Grammofonstudion. It’s a powerful album that honors the heavy legacy of early hard rock while delivering crucial lyrics that are more relevant now than ever. Expectations are high, following fantastic reviews both locally and abroad—not least in the Greek edition of Metal Hammer, which compares the band with both November and Trettioåriga Kriget. No wonder they are known back home in Sweden as the Black Sabbath of Majorna (Gothenburg).
